But it's her performance in the acclaimed romance "The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby" that has won her the best raves of her already well received career. Handled by the Weinstein Company, the film finally has a trailer. (Watch below)
Eleanor Rigby focuses on Connor (James McAvoy) and Eleanor (Chastain). The 2 fall in love with one another and the film details the early days up until their marriage to one another. However, something happens that damages their relationship permanently, causing Eleanor to leave without a trace.
Debuting at last year's Toronto Film Festival, the film was shown as 2 separate films, entitled "Him" and "Her", with him taking the point of view of Connor and Her telling Eleanor's side. The film will have a wide release as "Them" (a combined version of both Him and Her) September 26 of this year, while 2 separate releases will follow for both Him and Her.
The marketing strategy is confusing, but unique; it's a great way to see the story of these 2 from a whole bunch of different perspectives. Between the Weinstein's and the interesting rollout of the film(s), I think it'll be great press, and a great starting point for Chastain, who has been raved about by everyone that's already seen the film. Between this and A Most Violent Year, it's safe to say Chastain will receive her 3rd nomination (she could even be a double nominee, though that's less likely).
The film also stars two-time Oscar nominee Viola Davis, William Hurt and SNL alum Bill Hader.
